Veggie soup with a bazillion veggies and fried tofu. Wakame rice. Saba. Pork, potato, onion and rice vermicelli!? 200ml Hokkaido milk.
Other than the inclusion of rice vermicelli, this was a standard lunch

  1. Just reading the blog now for the first time in s few weeks. Started at Dec 23 and reading backwards. It strikes me you get very few veggies and fruit typically. Perhaps veggies are hidden in things? Or are you threatened by scurvy?

    1. Au contraire, there are always veggies - just not raw. Almost always have cabbage, tofu is kind of a veggie (made of soybeans), frequently spinach salad. Fruit is quite rare/expensive to buy in Japan.
